FynArts Festival Director, Mary Faure, and Benguela Cove Marketing PR & Events Manager, Warren Pearce presented Artist Christopher Reid with the 2017 Life Drawing award.
Christopher Reid has won the 2017 FynArts Life Drawing Competition.
On Friday, June 9th, 21 artists gathered in the manor house at Benguela Cove Wine Estate to compete in a life drawing competition. 2 models from Cape Town assumed the same pose. Artists were limited to graphite on A2 drawing paper. The event was part of the 2017 Hermanus FynArts program. Artists came from a broad background and from as far away as Johannesburg to compete.
A panel of accomplished judges determined the winner and pronounced Christopher Reid the winner on June 19th. The winning drawing will be framed and on display at Benguela Cove for a year and then be auctioned, with 50% of the sale going to benefit Hermanus FynArts.
