Christopher Reid’s pastel painting “Unemployed” was a Juried Exhibition Winner for The Seasons at Linus Galleries.
About his painting, Reid said, “This old tractor is “unemployed” both because of it being unused during the winter months and also because small farms are becoming extinct in the US. The tractor shows signs of wear but has gone into decay, with a bent pipe and rust. The snow even shows weeds that have grown up around it. Winter in this context could be both a literal season and a metaphorical one.
