November was a very exciting month for us as we were given the opportunity to visit China for 11 days. Chris was invited by the International Watercolor Society of China (all expenses paid), to be one of 30 to participate in the 2018 IWS Country Leaders Exhibition. Since he took over the IWSSA last year, he has put in countless hours to get it established and going strong. This trip was a nice reward for all of his hard work, and we enjoyed meeting artists from around the world.
Some of Chris’s paintings were exhibited at the George Museum as part of the South Cape Association for Visual Arts- Visual Expressions Exhibition. He won 3rd place for his painting, Old Harbor Morning.
Chris did well this year at the South African Society of Artists (SASA) 112th Annual Exhibition! This is his 3rd year as a member of the organization and he is quickly moving up in the ranks. His paintings and corresponding awards are shown below.

Fantastic opening for, “A Thread Runs Through It” at this year’s FynArts Festival in Hermanus! Painters and fibre artists were paired to create pieces that interrelated and complemented each other through commonalities such as color schemes, themes and form. Artist Christopher Reid and fibre artist Sheila Walwyn worked together using the theme- from the mountains to the sea. Their polyptych and photos from the exhibit are pictured below.
