Christopher Reid Takes Over As IWSSA Head

Christopher Reid is now the head of the International Watercolor Society South Africa (IWSSA). Chris joined the IWSSA in 2017 and was asked to be the co-chair with former head, Cheryl Curnick. Chris recently organized the 2018 IWSSA National Watermedia Exhibition in Sea Point, Cape Town. Following the huge success of the Sea Point exhibition, Cheryl has asked Chris to take over as the IWS country head for South Africa. She said she felt that the IWSSA was in good hands and it was time for her to step down. Cheryl remains involved as an admin and in the IWS global organization.

The International Watercolor Society (IWS) is a non-profit organization which was established in January 2012 with the objective of promoting the world’s oldest and most deeply rooted painting technique; the art of watercolor. The organization is made up of IWS groups in over 80 countries.

WCAS End Of Year Party

Helderberg Nature Reserve

Chris painted en plein air at the Helderberg Nature Reserve during the WCAS end of year get together with Charme Southey. The views were so majestic! We are going to return another time and I will make sure to have a large panoramic panel primed and ready.
