The SASA Members 110th Annual Exhibit opened to a large crowd. Several hundred paintings were on display and artists mingled with patrons and staff. The exhibition is held at the beautiful Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens in Cape Town in John Winter Hall.

The exhibition is juried and judges give each painting an individual score. Only paintings with a high enough point score are admitted into the exhibition. Each member accrues points during their membership with SASA and once a member has enough points, they are invited to the annual Merit Exhibition.

Christopher Reid was among those artists to have all 3 of their entries juried into the show. His work spanned genres and media with a watercolor still life, pastel wildlife, and an acrylic landscape. It was Reid’s first time participating. As a result of his high scores, Reid has been invited to participate in the Merit Exhibition in early 2017.
