Chris’s painting “Bombs Away” has won 3rd place in the XIII Golden Turtle International Wildlife Competition. 30 artists were selected from entries by 1261 artists worldwide, representing 117 countries, by a panel of international judges. http://wncontest.ru/en/news/866/
Christopher Reid’s painting, “Soutpan Symphony” (acrylic on panel) has been selected as a finalist for the 2019 Tollman Bouchard Finlayson Tondo Competition. This competition occurs during the Hermanus FynArts festival each year. Approximately 30 entries are selected from entries sent from across the country and are displayed in the Bouchard Finlayson wine cellar. The paintings must be round to facilitate hanging on the ends of wine barrels for the exhibit. This year’s theme is Harmony. The exhibition opens June 7th and is open to the public.
Chris was selected as the stage 3 winner of the Step By Step international competition, hosted by IWS Poland. The competition requires artists to photograph their painting at 5-7 steps of the creation process and include a list of all materials used. There are 4 stages of the competition with the 5th stage being selection of overall winners from the 4 stages and publication of the catalogue.
Chris’s painting, “Shanghai Showers”, was selected as the winner of stage 3. Chris was also selected as a finalist for the 2nd step and is proud to have had several other South African artists selected as finalists.
Christopher Reid’s pastel painting “Secret Cove” won Best In Show at the 2019 Western Cape Art Society’s annual Merit exhibition. The exhibition was held at Bright Street Gallery in Somerset West, South Africa.
