International artist Christopher Reid will be teaching a pastel painting workshop at Ferreira Art Gallery in Bryanston, Gauteng, South Africa on Saturday, July 13 from 9:00-17:00. Learn why pastel is one of the fastest and most versatile painting mediums available. Workshop will include a demo, pastel painting techniques, one on one painting instruction, and group critique.
All skill levels are welcome.
Cost is only R750 for the day.
Supply List:
- pastels (artist quality "dry" pastels)
- 2-3 surfaces to paint on (A3 is a good size, but any size will work)
- if working on paper, bring a drawing board to work on and binder clips or tape
- if working on panel, it should be primed with pumice gesso (aka pastel primer)
- a sketching medium (vine charcoal or a pastel pencil)
- kneaded eraser
- 3-4 photos (will choose one to paint from)
- table top easel (optional)
